Wir bewegen uns anfangs in Höhen zwischen 4 000 und 4 100 m. Dabei kommen  uns immer wieder schwer beladene Yaks entgegen. Jedes Tier trägt eine Glocke um den Hals, deren Geläut sein Kommen ankündigt. Dann sollte man irgendwie Platz zu machen, am besten die Böschung ein paar Schritte nach oben steigen. Yaks haben Vorfahrt.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><tt><kbd>Von dem Örtchen </kbd><kbd><b>Orsho</b></kbd><kbd> an sind allerdings doch noch ein paar kräftezehrende Steigungen zu überwinden.</kbd></tt></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt> Bei Sonnenschein und 10° C erreichen wir nach vier Stunden unser Tagesziel Dingpoche (4 400 m).</tt></kbd></font></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p><b><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Dingpoche:</tt></kbd></font></b></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Wir übernachten im für dieses Gebiet ungemein luxuriösen Family Hotel . Jedes der recht großen Zimmer ist mit einer Innentoilette (Stehtoilette) ausgestattet. Das ist wohl einmalig im Khumbu.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Selbstverständlich nutze ich den Nachmittag zur Erkundung und schieße ein paar schöne Fotos.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Dingpoche war früher lediglich ein Sommerdorf. Mit dem Einzug des Tourismus begannen immer mehr Sherpas, hier das ganze Jahr über Lodges und Teehäuser zu betreiben. Davon gibt es heute mehr als genug. Viele stehen jedoch</tt></kbd><kbd><tt> </tt></kbd><kbd><tt>leer. Die Bewohner leben vom Tourismus und der Landwirtschaft. Angebaut werden Gerste und Kartoffeln.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Die Umgebung ist wiederum herrlich. Vom Hotel aus fällt der Blick direkt auf den Ama Dablam. Gut zu sehen sind auch die Südflanken von Nuptse und Lhotse.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Richtet man den Blick nach Osten, öffnet sich das Tal von Chukung, welches wir morgen durchqueren werden. Gut zu erkennen ist mitten im Tal der etwas kleinere 6 189 m hohe Imja Tse. Bekannter ist er freilich unter seinen früheren Namen Island Peak.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Den Abend verbringen wir im Aufenthaltsraum unseres
