Die Nacht im Schlafsack verbringe ich in voller Montur und behalte selbst die Goretexjacke an. Erstmals fällt das Thermometer am frühen Morgen unter den Gefrierpunkt auf  1° C.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><tt><kbd>Vor uns liegen nur vier Kilometer, doch die sollten es in sich haben. Zunächst führt die Strecke recht steil nach oben auf 4 600 m. Dann geht es weiter nahe der Talsole. Aufgrund der Höhe, aber auch wegen der herrlichen Fotomotive, lege ich jetzt des öfteren Pausen ein. Hinter dem Örtchen </kbd><kbd><b>Pangka</b></kbd><kbd> folgt nocheinmal ein kräftezehrender Aufstieg über lockeres Geröll, Eis und einige treppenähnliche Gebilde bis auf 4 700 m. Die Luft erwärmt sich im Laufe des Tages wieder auf 15° C. Zum Schluss passieren wir nacheinander drei malerische Bergseen mit glasklarem und eiskaltem Wasser. Nach fünf Stunden endlich geschafft, Gokyo ist erreicht und ich bin ziemlich fertig. Der Luftdruck beträgt nur noch um die 600 mbar, das macht sich natürlich beim Atmen bemerkbar. Jeder Schritt wird zur Willensanstrengung.</kbd></tt></font></p> <p></p> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center"></p> <p><b><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Gokyo:</tt></kbd></font></b></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><tt><kbd>Der kleine Ort mit seinen vier Lodges liegt 4 750 m hoch und wird von einem tollen Bergpanorama umgeben. Unsere Unterkunft, die Gokyo-Lodge  ist super. Die Betten sind mit dicken Decken versehen, erstmals benötige ich keinen Schlafsack. Sieht man durch das Fenster meiner Kammer, fällt der Blick direkt auf den letzten der drei Seen, die wir passiert hatten, den </kbd><kbd><b>Gokyo-See</b></kbd><kbd>.</kbd></tt></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>In der Lodge sind wir nicht allein. Am Abend lerne ich einen netten Österreicher kennen. Er war zuvor mit dem Fahrrad von Jordanien bis Nepal gefahren, macht jetzt ein wenig Trekking im Khumbu und will sich später mit einer internationalen Expedition treffen, um den Everest zu besteigen. Das sollte dann auch klappen, am 20. Mai stand er als erster Diabetiker der Welt auf dem Gipfel. Eine Wahnsinnsleistung, doch für mich eine Nummer zu groß.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p></p> <p align="center"><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt><a
