Zunächst steigen wir durch dichtes Waldgebiet 600 m ziemlich steil ab zum tiefsten Punkt des Khumbu, </kbd><kbd><b>Phunki Drangka</b></kbd><kbd> auf  3 200 m Höhe. Diese Strecke ist normalerweise unproblematisch, aufgrund des am Tage tauenden und nachts wieder gefrierenden Schnees hat sich der Weg jedoch buchstäblich in eine teilweise vereiste Rutschbahn verwandelt. Die Füße finden kaum Halt und oftmals muss der Allerwerteste als Notbremse herhalten. Hin und wieder nehmen wir steile Abkürzungen inmitten der Bäume. Dort ist es wenigstens nicht ganz so glatt. Hin und wieder zeigt Glockengeläut das Herannahen von Yaks an. Auch dann muss Platz gemacht werden.</kbd></tt></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Glücklich darüber, keine Blessuren davongetragen zu haben, machen wir in Phunki Drangka Pause, sitzen am Tisch eines kleinen Freiluftrestaurants und genießen bei ca. 15° C das sonnige Wetter. An die Mühen des Abstieges denke ich nicht mehr. Im Khumbu sollte man vergangenes schnellstens vergessen und sich auf die Zukunft einstellen. Jede Minute kann neues, unvorhergesehenes bringen, dass gemeistert werden muss.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p></p> <p align="center"></p> <p></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><tt><kbd>Hinter </kbd><kbd><b>Phunki Drangka</b></kbd><kbd> überqueren wir auf einer Hängebrücke den </kbd><kbd><b>Dudh Khosi</b></kbd><kbd>. Dann führt ein zunächst ziemlich steiler Aufstieg durch Waldgebiet auf einen herrlichen Höhenweg mit schönen Bergsichten und ungemein tiefen Schluchten. Der verläuft bis Namche Bazar.</kbd></tt></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Dabei müssen immer wieder Abschnitte von Schnee, Eis und Schlamm überwunden werden.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Endlich taucht vor uns Namche Bazar auf. Endlich wieder etwas Zivilisation, nach beinahe drei Wochen solch wunderschöne Dinge wie die erste warme Dusche, schmackhafte Backwaren von der Bäckerei Hermann Helmers  oder ein kleiner Geschäftsbummel. Dazu kommt die Möglichkeit, eine Mail abschicken zu können.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Der Empfang in der Moonlight Lodge  fällt auch entsprechend herzlich aus. Allerdings sind wir bei weitem nicht mehr, wie drei Wochen zuvor, die einzigen Gäste.</tt></kbd></font></p> <p><font size="3" color="#f5fca3" face="serif"><kbd><tt>Als besonderen Luxus gönne ich mir
